Finished going through my pictures from the 2016 Austin MotoGP races at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. This track is not the best place to get shots of the race if you don't have a press pass, but I got some keepers. This is my third race at Austin, and I'll definitely be back next year. We still get the paddock passes every year. It's nice walking around and seeing all the racers you've come to idolize over when watching races on TV. Dani Pedrosa. 5'3" and rides a 230 mph bike like it's nothing. I really hope he wins a championship before he retires.
Eugene Laverty, on one of the non-factory teams, but still doing great in the series this year so far.
Maverick in full power ranger armor.
Rossi (God for short).
I'm sitting here with $6000 in camera/lenses/extenders shooting over the fence, and these two idiots are 30 feet away from the action shooting it up with cell phones. I give up.
I had no problems playing fan photographer in the paddock. If you like racing, you should definitely get to a MotoGP race. The one in Austin is a blast. Amazing food, and when the weather holds out, it's perfect.
