While I love winter, I'm definitely more partial to snow when I can go skiing. Snowstorm Jonas in Hoboken was fun for a while, but I wasn't looking forward to the aftermath.
It was snowing hard night Friday and Saturday. It actually wasn't that cold, and walking around during the travel ban was nice.
Coffee shops were open.
Walking down the river was not that fun. The wind picked up the chill from the water.
Bars were open. House of Que was serving dollar beers...
Then I switched to a new drink called "The Jonas" which after several of these, made the walk home even more fun.
Some cross country skiing...
Sunday, two of my neighbors and I spent several hours digging out our 3 driveways and 3 cars. After that, I felt I deserved an alcoholic brunch. French toast from Jacks Cabin....
......along with one bacon bloody mary, and one cucumber bloody mary.
Woke up sore on Monday for work, and realized I had to go back to my dad's house and blow out the driveway and sidewalks.
Not a very easy task. We got around 30 inches at his place.
Took me forever to get the damn blower to get started, and the snow was still too high for it.
Then the blower died, and after slicing up my knuckles trying to get it started again, I gave up and just did the sidewalks by hand.
Finished up some work early on Tuesday, got to the airport which was shockingly empty, and used up a United Club pass. After a weekend of shoveling, I'm ready for my long weekend in Colorado for some skiing.
